Lib Tech presents the 5th Annual Downtown Throwdown brought to you

Snowboy Productions and title sponsor Lib Tech are ready to kick off the 2010-11 winter season in true NW style with the Downtown Throwdown (DTTD) on October 9 in Seattle, WA, from noon to 5pm.

Occidental Park in Seattle’s historic Pioneer Square will be covered in 30 tons of snow, rails, barrels, sponsor tents, amped kids, confused tourists, photographers and 25 invited shreds.

“Snowboarding in Seattle…in October…and we’re raising money for theserviceboard.org …it’ll be bananas!” says Lib Tech’s Pete Saari.

In five short years this core grass-roots event has grown into the biggest urban snowboarding event in North America. Rider focused and spectator friendly, it blends progressive snowboarding with an entertaining format that keeps people coming back year after year.

“This rail jam is the premier event of the early season because it doesn’t have the aura of a contest. It really is a family of snowboarders smiling, shredding, and getting the public amped on the season,” says 2009 DTTD winner Nick Visconti.

The rider list is a who’s who of some of the most progressive pros and ams in snowboarding, including Nick Visconti, Forest Bailey, Scott Stevens, Johnny Lazzareschi, Ben Bogart, Jason Robinson, Austin Hironaka, Jess Kimura, Ben Bilocq, Ted Boreland, Austen Sweetin, Sam Hulbert, Brandon Reis, Yale Cousino, Jonah Owen, Chris Brewster, Ivan Marcinko, Chris Beresford, Jake Kuyzk, Andrew Brewer, Ryan Paul and Johnnie Paxson, as well as three local qualifiers from The Feeders! tour including Jacob Nelson and Kraemer Rickman.

The tag-team emcee talents of Jesse Burtner (Lib-Tech) and Preston Strout (HCSC) will keep the crowd laughing and informed while the JudgeMENTAL crew of Sean Genovese (Think Thank), Zac Marben (Vans) and Pat Milbery (Skullcandy) decide who gets a share of the $8000 in prize money and the Zumiez Destroyer Award.

After the event the party moves to Temple Billards for the DTTD afterparty brought to you by Snowboard Connection. Drink specials, an acoustic set by Wes Makepeace and an Issue Release Party by Snowboarder Magazine in addition to the obligatory 10% rule promise for a good end to a great day.

Thanks to the amazing support of Lib Technologies, Zumiez, Jones Soda Co., Vans, Skullcandy, Snowboarder Magazine, Think Thank, Snowboard Connection, Café Vita, Stevens Pass, Summit at Snoqualmie, Imprnt Design and Cobra Dogs for making this FREE event possible.

LIB TECH presents the DOWNTOWN THROWDOWN brought to you

Lib Tech and Snowboy Productions are stoked to bring back the Downtown Throwdown to Seattle on October 8, as well as adding our new stop in San Francisco on October 29…it’s gonna be BANANAS!

In the past 5 years this event has grown from a great local event to the biggest and most respected urban snowboarding event in the world, with a focus on the up and coming snowboarders who are shaping the industry.

“I’m humbled at how big this event has grown, and definitely excited about its future” says Snowboy Productions President Krush Kulesza. “With Seattle and our new SF stop, plus our AM qualifier series (The Feeders!) in Portland, Spokane and Sacramento, we’ve got the whole west coast covered from the Bay to the Border.” The invite list is STACKED with the likes of… Scott Stevens, Forest Bailey, Johnny Lazz, Ted Borland, Jake Kuzyk, Dylan Thompson, Austen Sweetin, Jess Kimura, Chris Larson and a lot more. Each stop will feature 25 of the most progressive jibbers on the scene today. We can’t wait to see who will join past winners Dan Brisse, Jed Anderson (twice), Nick Visconti and Ryan Paul as the next Downtown Throwdown champ.

Lib Tech rider and Think Thank owner Jesse Burnter will hold down the emcee duties along with Preston Strout from High Cascade Snowboard Camp and Crab Grab fame. Dinosaurs Will Die’s Sean Genovese will head up the judgeMENTAL crew with the likes of Zac Marben, LNP and Chris Grenier to determine what riders will take home a share of the $20K in prize money.

In addition to the non-stop shred action, there will also be music, food vendors, live art, autograph signings, a raffle of prizes that benefit great local charities, as well as info and prizes from all our great sponsors. Best of all? It’s still TOTALLY FREE!! So get your butt down to Pioneer Square in Seattle or the Civic Center in San Francisco and check out the action! Thanks to Lib Tech, Zumiez, Arnette, Vans, GoPro, Mt. Bachelor, Skullcandy, Monster Energy Drink, Snowboard Connection, SFO Snowboarding, POW Gloves, Snowboarder Magazine, Sierra-at-Tahoe, Summit at Snoqualmie, Think Thank, Diecutstickers.com and Crab Grab for their amazing support.
